These clocks require winding weekly and unless noted otherwise, have a night shutoff. They cuckoo the number of the hour on the top of the hour and cuckoo once for the half hour. They play music with their music boxes on the hour. Most of these clocks have the melodies of "Edelweiss" and "The Happy Wanderer".
Hekus was established in 1938 by Mr. Helmut Kammerer. In 1981 the company management was handed over to Mr. Rolf Kammerer, and now in the third generation since 1998 Mr. Uwe Kammerer will be continuing to take over parts of the company's responsibility.
