Christmas ornaments are a special tradition dating back centuries. The glass ornaments we know today started in the 1847 by Hans Greiner, a descendant of the Hans Greiner who with Christoph Müller established the first glassworks in the town of Lauscha in the German state of Thuringia during the 16th century. It was in the 1880's that F.W. Woolworth made his forthune in part by importing glass ornaments from Lauscha to the U.S.
